Happy 8 Months Micah Bear!

We took pictures this morning for Micah's 8 month pictures, however those weren't very good. Luckily, we had a couple of impromptu "photo sessions."

Micah was helping Meme in the yard, this is what I came outside to see. :)

This is his hungry face.

After, eating a WHOLE banana for a snack, we came outside to take this pictures.

Hey, Mom can I eat a leaf?

Okay, one little taste.

That's enough, pacifier back in.

This one is my favorite.

Micah is doing amazing things.
He feeds himself little bits of food, like Cherrios and bananas. His favorite food now are blueberries.
He is stuck in reverse when it comes to scooting. So he usually doesn't go further than a couple of feet in any direction. But he does make really good 360s.
He will roll over every once in a blue moon, usually trying to reach for his dirty diaper.
He loves to be in his stroller, as long as it is moving.
Believe it or not, for a couple of weeks, Micah has not been a huge fan of food. We stopped giving him baby food, and all he eats is big people food, but he still wasn't a big eater. Finally, last night he ate 3 bowls of food, and has been a huge fan of food today.

September trip to Seattle.

The beauty of Mt. Rainier...
Stan & I have travelled to Washington several times to visit, but this was our first trip to the Mountain. Matt has climbed it a couple of times (see previous posts), so he was our guide. It was a perfect day to be on the Mountain.

Matt with Micah, just a few weeks before his desert deployment. It's my favorite picture.

USN CORTRAMID: Corp Training Midshipmen

Sean, better known as 'Red', entered Navy life for a month this summer in San Diego. He experienced the 4 facets of the USN: Surface Warfare, Submarine, Aviation, and Marines. He flew a jet, posed with large guns inside a submarine, camped out, marched, and ate MREs for a week, bunked on a very large ship, and experienced turbo speed on a Navy waverunner, of sorts. He really learned a lot and fell in love with the Osprey.

Memorial Day 2010

Sean dressed in his whites on Memorial Day and we walked the Firewheel Mall and enjoyed dinner at Fish City Grill. Here he is with Teresa, sharing a moment of sibling affection.

Micah Samuel Glowicki

Katie called Sunday evening to say she was in labor. Matt drove Katie to the hospital early Monday morning and then they waited as Katie spent the rest of the day in heavy labor. Micah finally arrived May 3rd, around 8pm Seattle time and weighed in at 8 pounds 10 oz, 22 inches long and a head of hair.
Stan and I flew up Thursday and stayed thru the weekend, enjoying every minute with our first grandbaby. We were there for his baptism on Sunday and then flew back on Monday, wishing we lived closer
.

Expecting our first grandbaby

Katie & Matt found out they were expecting in early fall. Uncle Steven was there for the big news and Katie called me to let me know, but we all wanted to play it safe so no one else was told until Katie made it safely thru week 12 and then she sent a text message to her dad of the sonogram. Of course he was in the middle of watching a game so he glanced at it, couldn't figure it out and dismissed it as a bad transmission. Katie called me 10 minutes later and wanted to know why her dad hadn't called her. I told her he was watching a game, but a commercial was on, so I handed the phone to her dad. He was dumbfounded at first, then his face turned to pure excitement as he gasped and yelled at me "Katie's pregnant", "yes, I know" I said with a sheepish grin and giggle. "How long have you known?" "I long time. I've been waiting for this phone call for months!"

Katie & Matt decided to do it the old fashion way and wait on finding out the gender of the baby. So, the baby was simply called Glart for 9 months. That's a combination of Glowicki + Hart=Glart.
Teresa, Diana, and I flew up to Seattle in March for the baby shower. Katie got all kinds of things she would need for the new arrival, except gender specific clothing. The shower was hosted by her Seattle family, The McKinnons, Susie (mom) and Roxanne (pictured above).

Grand Entrance: Seattle

Mt Rainier as we fly to Seattle. Sitting on the left side of the plane has it's advantages. It rises out of the clouds and reaches for the plane.
